Sandy Sue 6 Feb 09
You might wonder about the "Sandy" name. Grandma (92 years old) names the dogs that come into our home ... thus, Charlie was Sandy Charles (he would not come to any name but Charlie), and "No (the name the shelter gave her because she was a stray)" is SandySue. Believe we have a good fit for our household as she is young (2&1/2 to 3 years old) but has an older soul.
Sandy was taken to Vets on Sat, 7 Feb 09 and found to have
Lyme desease
infect ears
"other" worms
kennel cough
BUT ... NO heartworms or fleas/ticks!! She is on heartworm meds, ear meds and doxycycline
Poor SandySue doesn't know how to play; she looks at the cats as prey (as well as the ferrets and rats); she doesn't know how to walk on a leash; she doesn't know what to do with toys or chew things; she is being house broken -- with all this, she is learning daily and without having to yell or scold her as she is sweet, a quick study (meaning she learns commands quickly such as STAY), and minds pretty good.
Following are pictures taken between Sat 2/7 and 2/10:

Some of the more recent pictures have bells on her collar (there are two of them and they are not small) -- these alert the cats to where Sandy Sue is.

27 Dec 08
His ear(s) are just about ready to stand up
27 Jan 09
Charlie and his first snow -- these will be some of the last pictures of our Charlie as he will soon be the Fitzpatrick's Charlie
28 Jan 09
The Fitzpatrick's adopted Charlie on 28 Jan 09... they were kind enough to share the following pictures of Charlies since that time ...
To understand picture 4 -- the Fitzpatrick's have Sadye, who is a 4-year old female german shepherd. Charlie is around 10-11 months and thinks he is top dog. Sadye (without putting a scratch on the clown-dog) is letting him know that he is not top dog, but lowest puppy, which is what the clown-dog needs.
